The Aims of the Conference: The Conference invites researchers, experts and actors to discuss actual questions concerning regional differentiation, local activities promoting employment and active labour market policy. The conference has three main themes: regional and social differentiation, regional interests and actors and issues relating to local initiatives and developing active labour market policy. The aim of the conference and presentations, discussions and exhibitions (performances, posters etc.) is to evaluate active labour market policy.

Participants: The conference is open and targeted for people involved with regional and labour market policy issues. The conference is open for participants from public organizations (representatives of labour administration, educational organizations, municipalities and federations of municipalities), companies, as well as associations of the unemployed, labour organizations and representatives of employment projects.

Organizers: The planning and arrangements of the conference are done by the Labour Pool project funded by the ESF and the Ministry of Labour carried out in Karelian Institute at University of Joensuu and research project Changing Dynamics of Urban Economies, Differentiation of Local Labour Markets and New Forms of Local Covernance, which is funfed by the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Ministry of Labour.

Simultaneous interpretation (Finnish-English)

Other programme: joint evening, poster exhibition, presenting the activities of employment projects (Labour Pools and cooperatives)
